Blessing of the Foundation: Holy Transfiguratio...

On Labor Day, September 3, the parish gathered at the almost completed foundation and in a solemn service buried a stone at the place where the altar will set. This stone was blessed by our bishop, His Eminence, Metropolitan Nicholas, last year at the dedication of the church property.
This stone represents the stone upon which the Patriarch Jacob of the Old Testament slept when he had his vision of angels ascending and descending from heaven on a ladder. Jacob called the place Bethel, which means, House of God.
We give thanks to God that He has given us this awesome gift and we know He will provide us with the ability and means to raise up a “House of God” in our midst.
