Enterance to the grounds surrounding the mosque

You're right, the Ka'bah is not a stone. I suppose its block-like structure created the 'stone' imagery I inadvertently let slip into my narration. Its religious and spiritual significance certainly transcend its physical properties. I assure you I did not intend to disrespect the Holy site--just my poor wording.

Hi Jim;
Just a note, if you, please. Ka'ba in Mecca is Not a stone. It is the house that was built by Ibraham and Ishma'il, peace be upon them. Muslems at the beginning were praying towards Jerusalem. Prophet Muhammad, peace be Upon him, prayed to God to make the direction towards Mecca: The house of Lord (Doesn't mean that the Lord lives in it, it is just symbolic). His call was answered. It is a sign of unity between muslems who believe in one god and take all one direction in their prayers.
Nice shots. Thank you very much.
