Chris, very cool of you to go to all the work of getting these pix posted online, as a fellow although later in life pro-photographer I can really appreciate all the work it took you. As far as this photo brings back alot of GREAT memories from this trip, one of the better one from back in the day. I remember this Spanish kid was enthralled with our cameras and binoculars. Of course we had the coolest hats !! All the best.

Chris, Thanks so much. This is such a treasure for so many people. Guess it goes to show one never knows how the 'routine' work ones does may benefit others years from now! Hope to see you at a future reunion....

Hi Chris(fellow Accolade staff member) Thanks for posting these great photos. I'm guessing you're the photographer that took the infamous, according to my parents at least, 1972 yearbook photo of me about to guzzle a bottle of champagne. it looks like a lot of these were from that night and it brings back a lot of great, though somewhat fuzzy, memories. I hope you will post more. I'm looking forward to them. Roy Jackson

Great pics, Chris! Hope you find more pics of football and basketball (if any). Always fun to see pics that were taken that didn't make it into the yearbooks. Good stuff! P-Bear

Hi! It is so much fun to look at these photos and then find one of myself too!! That's me, Lynne Anderson, Grace Quintero(a girl from a convent, desperate to leave, who lived with my family for a while) and I think that's Stve Klinger behind us. Thanks so much for taking the time & effort to post these photos!!!

COOL...absolutely cool.At 2:30 in the morning, just great fun. Thanks Angela for the pointer to this photo portfolio. Was in newspaper production for last decade..enough material here for a short-run print paperback. Page 1 could be an intro poem from Paul May, with insights from others on following pages???

Angela Carlucci referred frm Bretts site...what a surprise. A pic of me,1st in line, that I have no knowledge of. Was this the dinner for receiving varsity letters circa73-74?

As Bob Hope would say"Thanks for the memories" These brought back many memories for me as I graduated from there in 1968 and just came from the reunion in Sacramento and it was the best one yet!

This certainly brought back memories ... I too was in Spain during that time ... but not in high school ... I went to the Middle School. Before that to Royal Oaks Elementary ... we lived in Royal Oaks. Thanks for doing that ... those memories will live in all of those who lived it with you. Do you know of anyone who has pictures from Royal Oaks ... in particular of us Elementary and Middle School kids? That would be great!

Dear Chris, Thank you so much for all you did in getting these photos out to us. Gracias! My name is Danielle Glaysher-Cobian, yes, Gordon Glaysher's 2nd daughter (he has 3 daughters and 3 sons, now 5 grandchildren and one coming..)It was areal treat to see him doiing what he loved. As you may know , he passed on to the great Gospel Choir in the skies in 1998. I especially enjoyed the photo of the band set-up and playing outdoors...great days indeed. I am so grateful to have had that upbringing! Un abrazo fuerte, Danielle

(10-18-08 NOTE: Another 100+ photos have been added in a second album entitled "Mas Madrid 1970-74 Torrejon" etc. Enjoy and please leave a comment or email at chris_fierro@sbcglobal.net.) While visiting my parents' house in Eurovillas (Madrid) in May, 2008, I stumbled upon a trove of negatives that I took in Madrid and at THS from 1970 to 1974, and some photo prints of that era (some taken by others) that I believed to have been lost many years ago. Some were taken as a camera buff, many were taken as a HS yearbook and newspaper photog during those years. Many of the negatives and prints are in bad shape, having been originally under or overexposed, developed under less than ideal conditions, or stored in a dusty pantry for 34 years. Fortunately digitalizing technology has allowed for significant correction and although many pictures are not pristine, in most we are able to identify our colleagues, friends, and teachers. Responses identifying individuals in the pictures are appreciated. It is my intention to forward this or a similar effort to the various Madrid High alum associations. I hope you enjoy this unexpected blast from the past. Comments, feedback, and reconnections always welcome, particuarlary to identify the many protaganists of thes photos. Abrazos, Chris
