From Album Life Among The Ruins by David Martin
On Upperline between Camp and Magazine I passed this house burned and left to the weeds. I came back today and spent some time there taking pictures. It is one of six houses that burned together. Five are just as the were after the flames died. Metal chairs upright below their former floor. A stack of plates descended to the ground unscattered and unshattered. Mattress coils and refigerator grates reach skyward. And perhaps oddest of all, the corner is fringed with volunteer tomatoes both green and ripe.
