Bodyscaping amidst light and shadow. THIS IS A SENSITIVE ALBUM, DO NOT SHARE WITHOUT PERMISSION. (Images may NOT be downloaded/reproduced without EXPRESS written permission.)
Some ideas behind this project:
"I have been developing my understanding of our erotic nature for over 20 years now in philosophy, literature and art. My main explorations have been both in the area of philosophy, particularly the discussion of eros by Plato and Freud, and in literature, in particular through a serious understanding of the work of Sappho (for instance, see my journal on erotic poetry in an older website www.amelo14.deviantart.com). I am currently a PhD candidate; my resumé can be found at www.amelo14.wordpress.com
Artistically, I have been extremely interested in a serious and deep exploration of the power of lines and curves in the creative process. I have been heavily influenced by the abstractionist work of Kandinsky and Klee, among many others. If you take a look at my bubbleshare account (do a search for amelo14 at www.bubbleshare.com, you will be able to see these explorations in drawings and paintings, many of which include explorations of the female body). Moreover, for the last 5 years I have been exploring photography, but only recently have taken an interest in an exploration of nude work. My main photography page can also be found at www.bubbleshare.com by doing a search for amelo14.
I truly believe that the topic of eros is both beautiful and complex. So I have approached it from all these diverse angles, among others I have encountered in the complex narrative of our lives. For sure my strongest approaches are those of philosophy and literature (for instance, I have worked for decades in understanding the Greek concept of the erotic). But I believe photography captures a reality of the erotic which makes it unique. However, in this area I am still a learner and therefore I am seeking models who are interested in this type of multifaceted approach to the reality of the erotic.
More specifically, the session would be an exploration of the female form as regards its curves and lines. No particular societal message here, except the simple message that our desire for complexity in our life blinds us to another kind of complexity which lies in simplicity and openness. My sessions are a kind of conversation. Each conversation is unique; an exploration of who we are. Sometimes conversations produce very little, sometimes they produce a lot. Sometimes conversations are really silent and quiet. One really never knows. I will use different lenses, including 17-50, 60 macro and 85 which will allow for different photographic perspectives. 90% of the session will be a search for the curves/lines of your body through the use of lighting and very little use of props. I will focus mostly on your body, but might include your face in some of the shots. I will focus many shots on the curves of your breasts as an exploration of their powerful nature. These will include macro work. In short, one could say that this is a topographic exercise in which I can continue to learn to see the possibility of inhabiting our human curves beyond cityscapes and landscapes in the intimacy of the closest space of all, namely, our very own imaginary and transcendent "bodyscape". Such an experiment could reveal the fundamental spirituality of our flesh.
